We Rise Again
Our spring 2021 program will again be virtual and free of charge, featuring songs to bring harmony to a world sorely in need of music.
We Rise Again seeks to inspire and transform, creating hope in the face of fear, speak truth to injustice, and bring healing to spirits brought low by the pandemic. In harmony, we rise again rebuilding our community through song. Especially appropriate for this theme is Rollo Dilworth’s arrangement of When Storms Arise. A long-time friend of Cantus Novus, Dr. Dilworth is Vice Dean and Professor at Temple University’s Boyer College of Music and Dance in Philadelphia. He is also National Board Chair of Chorus America, among other honors.
Also featured is Roots, a new piece by renowned Norwegian composer Ola Gjeilo that was recently commissioned by the Chorus America Commissioning Consortium. Cantus Novus is proud to be part of that select group of 17 choruses from across the country.
The concert will premiere on Friday, May 21st at 8pm on both our Facebook page and our YouTube channel, and will be partnered with our first online fundraising action, titled “Great Escapes!”
If you missed our virtual Christmas Concert, From Our Homes to Yours, you can view it here.
