Audition

Auditions for new singers are held on an as-needed basis and dates will be announced. If you have significant choral experience, good sight-reading skills and a dedication to excellent choral performance, please contact Nancy Gibbs at contact@cantusnovus.org for more information.

One of our chief artistic goals is balance and blend. Each audition is private and takes about 15 minutes. DOWNLOAD THE APPLICATION HERE (which includes full details and required music) and fill out completely prior to coming to the audition.

Audition Requirements

• Candidates are encouraged to be fully prepared and aware of all audition requirements. You must arrive with the audition application complete.
  
• Auditions will consist of the following:
  • Performing a solo as described
  • Performing your voice part on the two audition pieces (included in the application)
  • Vocal scales
  • Aural testing
  • Sight reading
  • “Aural memory” (identifying notes within a chord)
