GIFTS Of Stock
By making a gift of appreciated stock, you can deduct the full-market value of the stock and avoid incurring a capital gains tax. Cantus Novus maintains a special account with Raymond James for this purpose. PLANNED GIVING

Our planned giving programs allow you to make a more significant, lasting impact with Cantus Novus, while complementing your personal financial planning. A planned gift to Cantus Novus can help generate lifelong income, offer significant tax deductions, reduce or eliminate estate taxes, and convert low-yielding assets into a higher income stream at a reduced capital gains cost.
The Ovation Society comprises the visionary supporters who have included Cantus Novus in their estate plans. Some common planned giving vehicles include … Bequests, Gifts of Retirement Assets, Gifts of Life Insurance, Charitable Gift Annuities, Charitable Remainder Trusts, Charitable Lead Trusts. We suggest you contact your financial advisor for direction and guidance as to which of these vehicles makes the most sense based on your situation.
A bequest is the simplest way to provide a planned gift to Cantus Novus and often allows donors to make significant contributions that may not have been possible during their lifetimes. If you have included a bequest to Cantus Novus in your will or designated Cantus Novus as a beneficiary on a retirement asset (e.g., Individual Retirement Account), please let us know so we can acknowledge your generosity as a member of our Ovation Society by emailing Wendy Allen at wlalsmal@gmail.com.
Volunteer Your Skills
We welcome the time and talents of members of the community. Friends of Cantus Novus can help in many ways to make each concert season the best it can be, and this help can take many forms. Not all the donations that help us produce wonderful music in our community are financial. “In-kind” giving refers to contributions of goods and services that are of value to a non-profit organization. Businesses, corporations and private individuals all can contribute in this way. As a friend of Cantus Novus, your time and skills will enhance those of our volunteer singers and board. Some examples are these:
— Accounting, CPA, legal services
— Grant writing/research
— Ushering/ticket sales at concerts
— Donations of food/beverages/gift baskets for benefit event
— Photography services
All Friends of Cantus Novus are acknowledged in our programs, receive free tickets to our concerts and may have the opportunity to have a link to your website.
